Lhamoi Dzingkha Dungkhag in Dagana has been without electricity for two weeks now. Although the Dungkhag has a diesel generator, the power supply has been very erratic. Villagers have been using firewood and kerosene for cooking and lighting purposes. Residents of Lhamoi Dzingkha complain that it is a problem they face every summer with no permanent solution.
The Regional Manager of BPC in Pheuntsholing said the problem is due to bad weather conditions. He said restoration works are underway in Gaeddu and that it could take another week for power to be restored.
