DPT reveals 5 candidates

DPTDruk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) revealed five candidates, today, confirming all its 47 candidates.

Thirty seven-year-old Jigme Tshultim is the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa candidate from Radhi-Sagteng constituency in Trashigang, replacing his father, the former National Assembly Speaker, Jigme Tshultim. Jigme Tshultim was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Drukpa magazine.

Thinley Palden Dorji, 38, is the new candidate, in place of former Lyonpo Minjur Dorji, for Kanglung-Samkhar constituency in Trashigang. Thinley Palden Dorji was the former Vice President of the BCCI.

Former National Council Chairperson, 47-year-old Namgye Penjore replaces former MP Tshering Penjor from Kabisa-Talog constituency in Punakha.

Forty three-year-old Karma D Wangdi, the former National Council member of Sarpang will vie for a National Assembly seat from Gelegphu constituency in Sarpang. He replaces former MP Prem Kumar Gurung who resigned from his post due to health problems.

Dr. Sonam Wangyel Wang, 43, the former Director of the Royal Education Council is replacing former MP Namgay Wangchuk from Lingmukha-Toedwang constituency.
