Dhan Bahadur Monger, 33, who had lost to the Karma Donnen Wangdi, the incumbent NC representative from Sarpang during 2008 elections, secured the highest votes- 4,131.
He was nominated from Dekiling Gewog. “I would like to prove the voters that I’m their representative,” he said.
After the 2008 elections, Dhan Bahadur worked as an IT officer with the Bank of Bhutan. He also worked as the Director of Bright Life Institute of Management, Thimphu.
Dhan Bahadur Monger is a Sherubtse graduate. He has M.Sc (IT), from Madras University, India.
The other contestants, Sonam Doeker managed 3,855 votes and Anand Rai got 1,488 votes. Rangu Pati Suberi secured 1,674 votes and Dhan Kumar Basnet got 1,412 votes.
