The festival had stalls set up to display various cuisines. The Phaksha Sikam Paa offered by the Bhutanese Stall was an instant hit among the Bodos.

The festival also provided participants with a platform to showcase their culture. Mask dance and traditional dances were performed by the cultural troupe of Bhutan. One of the dancers said, such culture exchange programmes help them understand its significance and the importance of preserving it.

The General Secretary of the BIFA chapter in Gelegphu, Ugyen Rabten, said is a platform through which Indo-Bhutan friendship can be further strengthened.

The Deputy Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, Kampa Borgoyary, said such interactions help the people and better understand each other’s culture, which is important for promoting and strengthening friendly relation among the neighbours.

The five-day festival will end on April 14.
