Woman succumbs to stab injuries

A 29-year-old woman, from Haa, succumbed to stab injuries on Saturday morning. She was stabbed in the abdomen, in an incident that took place near her apartment in Jaigaon, on Friday. She was accompanied by a male-friend when the incident occurred.

As per the man’s statement, maintained with the Jaigaon police, the deceased and he were returning to the deceased’s place at around 11 pm on the night when they were intercepted by a group of boys armed with daggers and khukuris.

The man managed to escape with minor injuries and immediately informed the Jaigaon police.

Both the victims were referred to the Phuentsholing General Hospital.

By yesterday evening, all seven teenage Indian boys involved were arrested. As per their statement, their intention was to rob. They said they had to  stab the girl after she protested.
