To prevent hoarding of goods and black-market activities, especially alcohol, pan masala, and tobacco products, Finance Minister Lekey Dorji said that the import trends of these goods will be closely monitored. This comes ahead of the implementation of the Excise Tax Act, which is expected to come into effect in January next year. The minister shared this in response to concerns raised by several members of the National Council, where the bill was introduced today.
