The National Assembly approved the Free Trade Agreement between Bhutan and Thailand today. Industry, Commerce and Employment Minister Namgyal Dorji said the agreement would help Bhutan balance its exports and imports. Signed in April, the agreement allows the two countries to trade goods without paying customs duties on each other’s products. The minister also stated that the government aims to implement the agreement by January next year.
