DNT receives certificate of registration from ECB

DrukNyamrupTshogpa-CertificateofRegistrationDruk Nyamrup Tshogpa received the certificate of registration from the Election Commission of Bhutan, on Sunday, taking the total number registered political parties in the country to five.

The Chief Election Commissioner, Dasho Kunzang Wangdi, issued the certificate to the Interim President of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa, Jigme Zangpo.

Jigme Zangpo said the Party’s Charter and Manifesto are based on the profound principals of Freedom, Justice and Solidarity.

“Our core beliefs are that wealth and power should be spread among all Bhutanese people that opportunities should be provided equally that no Bhutanese is left behind and that government should work for society which will maximise individual freedom and liberty to live a dignified and purposeful life without fear or undue restrictions,” said Jigme Zangpo.

Later at the press conference, the party’s interim president said the party has been developed based on strong conviction that new times call for new ideas and stronger commitments.

The Party has confirmed 41 tentative registered candidates. Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa is formed by a group of 135 registered voters from all the 20 Dzongkhags.
