Information and Communication Technology, ICT exams for Class 12 will be reinstated starting next year. The education minister announced this during the Meet the Press session on Friday. ICT exams were initially removed from both Classes 10 and 12 board exams in 2020. This was done to encourage students to learn the subject without the pressure of examinations. While ICT exams were reinstated for Class 10 in 2023, they remained excluded from the Class 12 board exams.

According to the minister, the reintroduction aims to emphasise the significance of ICT in education and prepare students for a technology-driven future.

“We have already introduced ICT in classes six, eight, and ten, and the inclusion of ICT in the Class 12 board exams will follow soon. The main goal is to equip students with the essential skills to navigate the digital world and prepare them for the future.”
