The deadline to apply for loans under the Economic Stimulus Programme, ending tomorrow, will not be extended. However, for the Window I Concessional loans, if funds remain, the Bhutan Development Bank will reopen applications. Same applies to Window-II Reinvigoration Fund, but will be announced by all seven Participating Financial Institutions.

The ESP loan which started receiving its application beginning September this year kept the application window period till 31st December this year.

During recent Meet The Press, the finance minister said that Window-I approved some 260 out of more than 1400 applications and gave out almost Nu 200 M.

Window-II, the reinvigoration fund, approved 13 out of nearly 90 applications disbursing around Nu 87 M.

More applications are under assessment.

The Economic Stimulus Programme Secretariat said they are still assessing applications.

Not every application received will be approved.

The Bhutan Development Bank also confirmed that they have completed taking over the pending applications from the other Financial Institutions.

For the approved loans by the participating Financial Institutions before the Bhutan Development Bank took the Window I Concessional Loan, the respective financial institutions will complete the disbursement.
