The Changlimithang Stadium will host more than 200 international guests tomorrow. The guests have arrived in the country to celebrate the 117th National Day. Some of them hiked to Druk Wangditse Lhakhang and visited the Kuenselphodrang in Thimphu today to experience Bhutanese culture and tradition.
At the Druk Wangditse Lhakhang, the guests received blessings and participated in Bhutanese games.
Some of them enthusiastically tried their hands at khuru and archery.
“The experience so far in Bhutan has been wonderful. The people are warm, happy, and incredibly helpful, and everything has gone smoothly. I’m enjoying the cool weather and the rare moments of sunshine. The local temples are so vibrant, with their beautiful colours, intricate planning, and aesthetics. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s National Day celebrations and the presentation of the Wellness City.” said Palak Jain, a guest from India.
“This is my first time in Bhutan, and the hospitality has been outstanding. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. We’re here for the National Day celebrations tomorrow, and we’re really looking forward to the cultural program, meeting the King, and all the special events being organized for the occasion,” said Akshay Singhal, another guest from India.
Bineng Tan, a guest from Singapore said, “It’s my first visit to Bhutan, and I’m truly honoured to be here for the National Day celebrations. Bhutan is a beautiful country, and the people are incredibly friendly. My experience has been fantastic, and I’m excited to be part of the celebrations tomorrow, joining the Bhutanese people in the festivities.”
“This isn’t my first visit to Bhutan. My wife and I first came here in 2012 and were mesmerized by the country’s beauty and culture. We’re thrilled to be back, especially as we’re attending Bhutan’s National Day celebrations for the first time. I want to wish all our friends in Bhutan a very happy National Day!” said Jonathan Tow, a guest from Singapore.
The guests also visited Buddha Dordenma statue at Kuenselphodrang where they had the opportunity to listen to nuns reciting melodious prayers.
“Fifty nuns are gathered here to recite prayers. We are reciting Kurim and prayers for the National Day. It was done last year too for success and good outcome,” said Damcho Wangmo, a nun at Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery.
The guests expressed their anticipation for the National Day celebrations and the opportunity to meet His Majesty The King.
