The Royal Civil Service Commission or RCSC has recorded an increase of over six per cent in this year’s civil service exams as compared to that of last year. According to the RCSC, more than 78 per cent of the graduates who sat for the main exams of the Bhutan Civil Service Examinations scored more than 50 per cent which is the minimum qualifying mark. The 2024 examination also recorded the highest number of registered graduates in the past five years. The RCSC announced the results today.
A total of 2,195 graduates achieved qualifying marks in the main exams of the Bhutan Civil Service Examination.
In the Administrative Services category, Kinga Lhazom, from the Royal Thimphu College, topped the category with 67.76 per cent.

Cheki Yangdon from Gedu College of Business Studies scored the highest with 65.64 per cent in the Finance Services category.
Securing 68.35 per cent, Wangchuk Dema from Chandigarh University in India topped the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) category.
Likewise, Passang Dem from Paro College of Education stood as the top scorer in the B.Ed category with 73.30 per cent.
In the Dzongkha category, Phub Namgay, a graduate of Tango Buddhist College, topped the list with 84.72 per cent.
In the Technical MBBS category, Pema Dechen from Rajshahi Medical University in Bangladesh achieved the highest score of 78.18 per cent.
Phuntsho Tenzin from the College of Natural Resources led the Technical Bio-Science category with 79.66 per cent.
Pema Seldon from Amity Institute of Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing in India topped the Technical Engineering and Statistics category with 78.88 per cent.
Similarly, in the Technical Allied Health and Medical Services category, Mani Dem from Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan achieved the highest score of 80.66 per cent.
And in the Technical ICT category, Tshering Pem from Vellore Institute of Technology in India secured the top position with 80.51 per cent
Finally, in the Common Examination for Law Graduates Category, Kuenga Nyinzer Lhazom from Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law topped the category with 72.60 per cent.

More than 2800 graduates appeared for the Bhutan Civil Service Examination’s main exams this year.
The RCSC has announced more than 1140 available vacancies in the civil service this year. Appointments of the new recruits are expected to begin from January next year.
