His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck who is the Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia attended the Signing Ceremony for International Recognition of the council in Kuwait, today. The ceremony formalized the recognition of the council as an international organization with full international immunity in Kuwait. This landmark agreement underscores Kuwait’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and supporting the Olympic movement.

His Royal Highness also attended the 90th Executive Board Meeting of the council. The meeting discussed crucial matters pertaining to the advancement of sports in the region. The Olympic Council of Asia is the apex body for sports in Asia, responsible for organizing prestigious multi-sport events such as the Asian Games. Since its establishment in 1982, the council has 45 member nations.
