TrongsaDzongCrackNumerous new cracks have developed on the walls of Trongsa Dzong. Even the existing cracks have widened over which the Trongsa Dzongkhag officials are worried.

According to officials, the cracks on the walls started appearing after the Mangdechhu project started its work. They say the dam site of the project is located about 1.6 kilometre below the Dzong. Whenever explosives are used to clear the area for the ongoing construction, tremors can be felt up to Ta Dzong. Ta Dzong is located above Trongsa Dzong.TrongsaDzongCrack.

Several cracks have also developed on the walls of Ta Dzong.

In the meantime, a team of experts from India led by two scientists from the National Institute of Rock Mechanics and officials from Mangdechhu Project visited Trongsa and Ta Dzongs today.

One of the scientists said the cracks are not because of tremors from the explosives.
