Office equipment, household properties and five cars were engulfed as a single-storied traditional house was razed at Changlimethang earlier today. The house was occupied by the Bhutan Tennis Federation.
The office lost everything to the fire while the property belonging to the cafeteria was partially damaged. The fire spread to the vehicles parked nearby and five cars were also damaged. According to sources, a woman who resides in the office alerted other people who were also in the office after she woke up from the pungent smoke that filled her room. As per sources, a short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
