To promote biodegradable products in Bhutan, the Bangladeshi Embassy in Bhutan will work with business entities from the two nations to promote and exhibit jute-made items in Bhutan.

Marking the initiative, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay inaugurated the Bangladeshi Jute Products Exhibition Centre in Thimphu, yesterday. The items at the exhibition include bags, slippers, rugs and clothing among others.

According to the officials from Bangladesh, adapting to these products will support Bhutan’s commitment to maintaining its status as a carbon-negative country.
