Residents of the Changjiji housing colony can occupy their houses until they retire. However, during Friday’s ‘Meet the Press’ session, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay said that certain conditions must be met to occupy the NHDCL’s affordable houses in Changjiji, Thimphu.
On its first day in office after being elected, the government issued a directive to the Ministry of Finance to revise the tenancy agreement for residents of the Changjiji housing colony and to formulate plans to develop additional low-income housing.
