The first ever festival in the country on traditional drumming in South Asia opened at the Centenary Park in Thimphu this morning.

The four day festival brings together drumming experts from Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The festival showcases different drumming traditions in the region.

It will provide a platform to share and exchange culture and experiences in traditional drumming in South Asia.

The festival is organized by the SAARC cultural center in Colombo in collaboration with the ministry of home and cultural affairs.
