Ugen Tsechup Dorji, the Honorary Consul-General of Thailand in Thimphu was presented The Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand yesterday, conferred by the King of Thailand.
The order is in recognition of his role in promoting and strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Bhutan and Thailand. Ugen Tsechup Dorji initially served as an Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Thimphu from 2003 to 2013 and was later promoted to Honorary Consul-General.
Ugen Tsechup Dorji is the first Bhutanese to ever be presented with the order.
