The Drukair Corporation has procured two new helicopters. One of the helicopters is expected to arrive next month while the other in September. According to the Drukair, they are spending about USD 8.5 M, which is nearly Nu 700 M.

Currently, the country has only one helicopter. The other helicopter crashed at Wachey in Lunana, last year.

According to the Drukair Corporation, after the merger with the Drukair, the helicopter services generated about Nu 170 M from November 2022 till the end of last month.

The services include medical evacuation, sightseeing, and search and rescue among others.

So, with the increasing demand for helicopter services, the company decided to purchase two helicopters.

The helicopter service was first established in 2015 and later merged with the Drukair.
