Police in Phuentsholing arrested two men in connection with illegal transaction of controlled substances at around 2:00 pm from the Rinchending check-post yesterday.
Police sources said they received information from the police informer early at 10:30 am and the police teams were deployed at the main gate. They, however, failed to trace the suspect’s vehicle since there were no particular details about the suspects and the vehicle.
Upon receiving additional information from the informer, that the two suspects had boarded oil tanker truck heading towards Wangduephodrang from Phuentsholing, the police immediately deployed teams at Rinchending check post. The suspects were caught there with 544 Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) capsules and 200 Nitrosun (N10) inside the cabin.
Upon interrogation, they confessed having purchased the substances from Dental Clinic in neighboring town of Jaigoan. They had put the substances under the basketful of vegetables to make easy excess at the main gate.
They also confessed that the driver was innocent and he was not aware of with their activities. This is the16th case of illegal transaction of controlled substances so far in 2012.
