PM, Speaker, Deputy Speaker of National Assembly and Cabinet Ministers take Oath of Secrecy in formal ceremony

Following the Druk Gyalpo’s Dakyen conferment, the Prime Minister, the Speaker, and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Cabinet Ministers took the Oath or Affirmation of Secrecy. The oath was administered by the Chief Justice, Chogyal Dago Rigdzin. The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, also signed the order of assumption to the Office of the Prime Minister.

Article 10, Section 19 of the Constitution of Bhutan 2008 states that the Prime Minister, the Ministers, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, the Chairperson, and the Deputy Chairperson of the National Council shall take an Oath or Affirmation of Secrecy, as provided for in the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution, before assuming office.
