Her Majesty the Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck launched a book titled Journey to Liberation, today. Authored by Khenpo Phuntshok Tashi, the book is about the life and teachings of Buddha.
At the launch, Her Majesty the Queen Mother said the Journey to Liberation is a fruit of author’s faith in Buddha and making of Buddha’s compassion operational.
The author donated the book to Tarayana Foundation.
“With the proceeds of the book going towards supporting many of Tarayana Foundation’s social service initiatives including fulfilling the greatest aspiration of our senior citizens for the first pilgrimage to Bodh Gaya which otherwise would not be possible,” said the Queen Mother.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck also attended the launch ceremony.
The book will soon be available for sale in book stores of Thimphu and other dzongkhags.
