In addition to the Phuentshogling town area, Phuentshogling thromde encompasses the stretch from Amochhu bridge to Singye Chhu in Pasakha. However, these areas lack the facilities and infrastructures of a thromde. But this is about to change with the Phuentshogling Thromde planning on constructing basic infrastructures for these peripheral areas in the 13th Five-Year Plan.

A thromde typically has facilities such as schools, health care centres, proper drainage and sewerage, and proper land allotment with road access. But places like Pasakha which falls under the Thromde area do not have any of these facilities.

However, landowners have to follow the Thromde rules and regulations including paying taxes even without the amenities.

The Thromde Office is now planning on providing basic facilities and infrastructure in areas from Amochhu Bridge to Singye Chhu in Pasakha.

The Phuentshogling Thrompon Uttar Kumar Rai said that this will not only help people but also ease the housing crunch and traffic congestion in core town areas.

“For any town development, basic infrastructures should be provided. Then only, people can start building houses. This will ease pressure in the core town areas, and also help extend the town. Without infrastructure, people will not stay there. For example, Pasakha is an industrial area, but people working there stay here in Phuentshogling, why? It’s because no basic infrastructures are there, ” added the Thrompon.

The Thromde office had planned to develop these areas in the past but was not able to get sufficient budgets.

“We submitted the need for these developments in the 12th Five-Year Plan. But could not get enough budget. The little amounts we received were not at all sufficient. We spend every budget very carefully through the committee. If we want to invest, we have to do well so that the budgets are not wasted.  Although these areas fall under thromde, it looks like a rural area,” said the Thrompon.

Thromde officials said that the office has reviewed the Local Area Plans.
