To contribute to the growth and advancement of construction and wood sectors in the country, the 12th Bhutan Construction and Wood Expo 2023 is underway in Thimphu. Exhibitors from both India and Bhutan are showcasing their latest offerings, services, and cutting-edge technologies.

From woodwork to construction and woodworking machinery, electrical components, furniture, furnishing, earth-moving machinery, modular kitchens, air conditioners, and utility vehicles, the expo displays a wide range of products and services.

At the event, President of the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tandy Wangchuk highlighted the significance of the expo. He said it extends beyond just an exhibition of products and services.

“Bhutan Construction and Wood expo serves as a crucial platform for showcasing and sourcing high-quality construction materials with a focus on excellence. The expo brings together leading companies and manufacturers, providing a unique opportunity for industry professionals to explore and introduce them to the latest advancements in construction materials and technology. This facilitates the integration of superior material into construction projects, ensuring durability, safety and sustainability.”

Infrastructure and Transport minister Dorji Tshering said such an expo is important for the growth of the private sector which will help drive the country’s development.

“If Bhutan has to be developed, it is the private sector, which we consider, the engine of development. And it is the chamber that has to coordinate this development.”

The five-day expo will conclude next week.
