The prime minister in a live radio conversation on BBS, yesterday said that the finance ministry is awaiting proposals on pay hikes from two more State Owned Enterprises, SOEs before the matter can be discussed in the Cabinet. Following the recent pay hike for public servants, the finance ministry has given directives to the Chief Executive Officers of the 13 SOEs to submit proposals to the finance ministry. Proposals should include affordability and the proposed hike. The prime minister said that the pay hike percentage will depend on respective organisations and the Cabinet and finance ministry’s decision. He added that the decision will be announced soon.
