
It has been fifty years since Bhutan and the United Nations Development Programme started the journey of friendship. And this friendship and support will continue even after the country graduates from the Least Developed Countries group according to the UNDP. The Resident Representative of the UNDP says they will also focus on areas such as climate change, improving market access and private sector growth. Since the partnership began in 1973, the organisation has supported the country in human resource development, agriculture, health, tourism and energy sectors among others.
