During the question hour session of the National Assembly yesterday, Jomotsangkha-Martshala MP Norbu Wangzom raised concerns about the incomplete Dewathang-Nganglam and Jomotsangkha-Samrang highways. According to the MP, these roads were left incomplete by the previous government and the current government has put the works on hold despite having the tender and budget ready.

In response, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dorji Tshering clarified that the Jomotsangkha-Samrang highway is complete but the road remains unconnected due to the need for bridges. Currently, 11 out of 17 bridges on the Jomotsangkha-Samrang highway have been completed, while the remaining six bridges are expected to complete by the mid of next year. Meanwhile, the Dewathang-Nganglam highway works have been paused due to bridge construction works.
