A 23-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident yesterday. The accident took place at around 7 pm near the Honda showroom in Thimphu. The deceased was hit by the vehicle while crossing the road along the expressway. She succumbed to severe head and chest injuries after reaching hospital.

She worked as a sweeper with the Honda showroom

Police said the accident could have occurred at a small bent in road at the site of the accident.

Sources said no one could identify the vehicle as it was already dark.

The police are still looking for the driver.
