Under the project-tied assistance, the Indian government committed Nu 28bn for 82 projects in the 12th Five Year Plan. As per the Project Monitoring Committee meeting, only 16 projects amounting to Nu 2.8bn have been completed so far. The meeting between Bhutan and the Indian government was held today.

The 66 remaining projects worth more than Nu 25bn are ongoing. As per the GNHC, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected project implementation, especially the projects that depend on foreign labour and the import of materials. The Indian government is yet to release more than Nu 5bn for the projects.
