Book inspired by Her Majesty the Royal grandmother launched

A book titled, “Zangdok Palri – The Lotus Light Palace of Guru Rinpoche: Visions of the Buddhist Paradise in the Sacred Kingdom of Bhutan”, was launched in the capital today. The book is inspired by Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother, Ashi Kesang Choeden Wangchuck.

The book was launched by His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Yangse Rinpoche. The book contains biography of Guru Rinpoche among others.

Speaking on behalf of Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother, the Yangbi Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang said Her Majesty’s dear friend from Thailand, Supawan Lamsan has worked diligently for two years to produce the book.

Supawan Lamsan was assisted by the venerable Trulku Thondup, a renowned Thai graphic artist, Ajahn Chotiwat Puunopathan, and her daughter Tanika and friends.

Several Bhutanese including scholar and historian, Dasho Sangye Dorji have also made contributions in producing the book. Dasho Sangye Dorji was also at the launch and spoke about the content and significance of the book.

The Yangbi Lopen on behalf of Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother and others thanked both the Bhutanese and the Thai teams for their hard work and effort in coming up with the book. Her Majesty the Royal grandmother presented Khadar and gifts to both the teams as token of gratitude and appreciation.

The members of the Royal family and the senior government officials were also present at the launch held at the Taj Tashi.
