An 11-year-old, Tshering Dolma, was washed away by Dangchu River in Wangduephodrang yesterday. She, along with her school mates, had gone for a picnic near the river when the incident occurred. She was a class four student of Tencholing Primary School.
Our reporter, Kuenzang Thinley, says she slipped and was washed away while fetching water from the river. Her body was recovered yesterday, a few metres away from where the incident occurred.
