The government is in discussion with hoteliers across the country to increase the number of quarantine facilities. People have recently complained of a shortage of quarantine facilities. The Foreign Minister Dr Tandi Dorji said a list of hotels will be ready soon.

“Previously hotel owners that gave us their hotels for quarantine are now refusing to give it to us again. This time we are talking to the hoteliers across the country and have asked for their support and solidarity. Today and tomorrow, we will get a proper list of quarantine hotels. After this, whoever wants to travel for example if people wants to travel from Wangdue to eastern districts, we will quarantine them on their way to their destination like Phobjikha, Trongsa and Bumthang. If they are coming to western districts, we are planning to quarantine them wherever the space is available in Paro, Thimphu, and Wangdue. And in districts where the disease outbreak is major like Wangdue, Phuentsholing and Gelephu, we are trying to address the limited quarantine space.”
