HH appoints Principal and Vice-Principals of monastic schools

His Holiness the Je Khenpo conferred Khadar to the newly appointed Principal and Vice-Principals of three monastic schools today morning at the Punakha Dzong.

Tshewang Dorji, 36, from Monggar has been appointed as the new Principal of Gomphu Kidpeling Astrology School in Tashi Yangtse. He began his monastic education from Dechen Phodrang monastery in Thimphu at the age of eight. Later, he served as an astrology teacher at Pangrizampa College for Astrology in Thimphu and Pema Lhuendrup Chhoekhorling Astrology School in Gelegphug.

Rathru, 39, from Wangdue Phodrang is appointed as the Vice-Principal of Dechen Phodrang Central Monastic School in Thimphu. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a teacher at the same school. He had studied in Shali Pangkha Lobdra in Gaselo and Sangchhoekhor Shedra in Paro.

Sigay Dorji, 42, from Wangdue Phodrang has been appointed as the Vice-Principal of Phochhu Dumra Monastic School in Punakha. He began his education at Chhukha Dratshang and studied at Talo Shedra in Punakha and Tango University of Buddhist Studies in Thimphu. He had also completed Losum-Chhoksum, three years’ retreat at Cheri monastery in Thimphu. Prior to the current post, he served as a teacher in the same school.
