The government is in the process of expanding air route to South Korea, Malaysia, Hongkong, Vietnam, Combodia and Laos, revealed the Prime Minister, while presenting the annual State of the Nation report today.
Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y. Thinley said the government had signed Air Service Agreement with the Maldives, Singapore and Bangladesh. This will allow Druk Air to use all the airports in Bangladesh and operate flights to Shajah in UAE, Pakistan, Singapore, Kathmandu and all the Indian states except Kolkata.
Lyonchhoen said the government will sign Air Service Agreement with SAARC member countries especially Sri Lanka and Pakistan. “This is being done to air link all the capital cities of SAARC countries,” said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also presented Drukair Corporation’s achievements in 2011. Drukair earned revenue of over Nu.2,261 million last year and over Nu.1,704 in 2010.
