As Phuentsholing continues to detect positive cases from the community even after a month since the first case was detected on April 16, mass screening of the residents is being initiated. The mass screening will take place for the next two days. All household members of core 3, core 4 and Amochhu-Chamkuna will be tested while an individual from core 1, core 2, Pasakha, Allay-Pekarzhing, Damdara-Kabraytar and Rinchending will be tested.

The results of the mass screening will decide further relaxation in the town. Currently, Phuentshogling is under partial lockdown with only designated retail outlets allowed to open. People are also allowed to move within their zones only.

Core 3 include BoB, PSA, Pemaling and RBA areas while the integrated vegetable market, Zangdopelri and Mig cinema hall areas fall under core 4.
