Her Majesty Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck graces the inauguration of “InFocus: a Photography Exhibition”

Her Majesty Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck, the Royal Patron of the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan, graced the inauguration of “InFocus: a Photography Exhibition”. The exhibition Catalog featuring 204 selected photographs along with the biography of the photographers was launched as well. The exhibition is held to encourage, promote and provide a platform for the photographers in the country.

The exhibition is organised by the Department of Information and Media, Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan. 147 photographs among the 204 will be displayed for the public at the Phase III Gallery, Royal Textile Academy from tomorrow till May 12.

And to engage more youth in events such as exhibitions and also to promote exquisite photographs and the photographers of Bhutan, a Selfie Contest was also organised.

According to a joint press release, to support artists and other creative groups/individuals to pursue a sustainable career in this field, the works on display will also be promoted through social media. The exhibition and the selfie contest is expected to boost local creativity and appreciation for the art of photography.
