Prime Minister Dasho Dr Lotay Tshering during a press brief yesterday said that the use of Druk Trace app will massively help in contact tracing. Over 150 contacts were easily traced because the 25-year-old woman who tested positive yesterday made use of the app consistently. She scanned at various locations making it easier for the officials to trace contacts.

“She also said that she used facemask wherever she went and never removed it. That is why if she had done what she said, we believe that she might not have spread the disease. If everyone makes proper use of facemask, there is 80 to 90% chance of a person not getting the disease,” said the Prime Minister.

According to the Health Ministry, although the lucky draw event during the National Day boosted the registration, business establishments should remind visitors to scan or maintain a visitors logbook at all times.

In line with the COVID-19 health safety and preventive measures, the Health Ministry also urged everyone to make proper use of facemask during this critical hour.

With over 2 M Druk Trace scans complete across the country so far, there are 300,000 registered users of the Druk Trace application.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry is urging everyone to make proper use of facemask at all times.
