Aimed at reforming the agriculture sector and doubling of farmer’s income, Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is organising the first-ever virtual conference of the 6th Farm 2 Fork – International Conference, Exhibition and Buyer Seller Meet in collaboration with Punjab Haryana Delhi Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 4th to 6th November.

Agri-Businesses falling under Small and Cottage Industries in Bhutan are also expected to benefit from participating in the conference.

The Dy. Secretary-General of BCCI says the virtual conference will benefit Bhutanese businesses in building business linkages and help to explore the market and promote trade and investment opportunities in India among the stakeholders.

“The intention of participating in Farm 2 Fork conference is to create an avenue for the relevant sector, award them an opportunity to participate in the meetings virtually and then go into more discussions with the partners that they may identify in the process of their participation,” said Chandra Chhetri, the Deputy Secretary-General of BCCI.

He said the event will not only benefit entrepreneurs but also the farmers and the consumers.

“We are talking about produce reaching ultimately to the consumers. So, it’s a complete chain we are talking about. The engagement of entrepreneurs in this supply chain is going to benefit the farmers as well as the consumers. It’s a win-win kind of a program that the PHD chamber has organised,” he added.

There are seven companies from the agriculture and dairy sectors including agro tools and machinery from Bhutan along with other international exhibitors and participants from 16 countries.

The virtual conference is initiated with support from the Transitional Trade Support Facility Program under the Royal Government of Bhutan.
