The internal road connecting Phuentshogpelri Gewog in Samtse with Phuentshogling will now be upgraded to Secondary National Highway. The 38-kilometre road begins at Satergang (Khanigaon) village, which is about 13 kilometres from Gomtu.

On His Majesty The King’s command, the new road was paved on gewog centre road standard this summer. The Department of Roads is carrying out the widening works at the moment. However, blacktopping is not expected this financial year. Gomtu’s only internal road to Phuentshogling is via Samtse, which remains inaccessible during summer.
