A 25-year-old man from Kilkhorthang Gewog in Tsirang is under custody in connection with a series of burglary cases in Tsirang. The suspect was arrested on 16th of this month from his house.

During the preliminary investigation, the suspect was found to be involved in 13 different counts of burglary cases. The suspect has stolen mostly edible items and cash worth more than Nu 134,000 from different shops in and around Damphu town from February last year till this month. According to the police, the suspect has also stolen around 50 kilograms of pork and fish from four different meat shops in Damphu last year. The police recovered about Nu 8,000 in cash and edible items worth over Nu 1,600 from his house during the interrogation this month.

The suspect was under watchlist of Tsirang Police from last year itself but lack of proper evidence has held back the police from making an arrest. Tsirang police last month confirmed the suspect through a mobile voucher, which was found at the suspect’s house during the interrogation this month as one of the victims registered the Police case with mobile voucher’s serial number. The suspected has confessed to the crime.

Police are investigating the case.
