The restoration of Lingzhi Yugyal Dzong under Thimphu dzongkhag is in full swing. Works on the first-floor is almost complete. The project has now started with the Utse construction.

The restoration is accried out with the technical support from the Department of Culture, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs. The project began in March 2018, funded by the Government of India with a budget of Nu 400 M.

Located at about 4,150 metres above the sea level, the Lingzhi Yugyal Dzong Renovation Project is facing difficulties in transporting construction materials to the site where workers have to carry timbers upward for three days to reach the site.

170 workers are involved in the construction works, and the project is targeted to complete by the end of 2023. The earlier Dzong was damaged by the September 2011 earthquake.
