The man who tested positive yesterday has tested negative during the active surveillance in Phuentshogling

A 10-year-old girl and a 46-year-old man in Phuentshogling tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday The girl is a primary contact of the DANTAK cases and the man was detected positive from a flu clinic.

The girl who tested positive for the virus is from DANTAK cluster in Phuentshogling which is a self-containment zone. Her parents have also tested positive for the virus recently.

According to the Health Ministry, the man who tested positive yesterday has tested negative for the virus during the recent active surveillance carried out in Phuentshogling.

There are now 227 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in the country where 142 have recovered. This brings the total active cases to 85.

Meanwhile, on 31st August, 2,402 samples from Haa were collected and tested at the Royal Centre for Disease Control in Thimphu yesterday which all came out negative.  The samples were collected from more than ten places including Sunday Market, RBA, and nearby schools. They were tested following the detection of three positive cases from the IMTRAT on 28th August last month. So far  3,470 samples were tested in HAA.
