The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has granted USD 2M to the government in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. The grant comes from the Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund supported by the ADB.

The grant is expected to alleviate the immediate financial and other challenges that the government is facing. The grant will be used for the procurement of test kits and reagents, personal protective equipment, medical goods and supplies, and laboratory equipment. According to a press release from the finance ministry, ADB will work closely with the government and other development partners to help ensure a coordinated and effective response.

ADB also approved USD 20M loan support to help the government in implementing its Economic Contingency Plan.
