Sarpang Dzong construction commenced in 2018 and so far around 36 percent of the work has been completed. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic the roofing work scheduled for completion before the monsoon season was hampered due to delay in delivery of the roofing materials from India.
Besides the delay, the construction project is also facing manpower shortage due to Bhutanese and Indian workers leaving the construction site.
