The Bhutan Foundation, upon the command of its co-chair, Her Majesty the Queen Mother Tseyring Pem Wangchuck, contributed Nu 12 M to His Majesty’s Kidu Fund for COVID-19. According to a press release from the Foundation, the contribution is a gesture of gratitude and deep respect for the tireless efforts of His Majesty to the people in the wake of the pandemic.

In March, the Foundation handed over medical equipment and supplies worth Nu 1.13 M to the Health Ministry. Currently, it is facilitating two grants amounting to USD 1 M from the United States Agency for International Development for Bhutan’s COVID-19 response.
