The World Health Organization recorded the highest one day increase in COVID-19 cases with 183000 new cases detected globally. According to UN health agency, Brazil and US reported the highest cases. According to international media, US is preparing for a possible second wave of the infection as the cases continue to increase.

Globally, there are nearly 9M confirmed COVID-19 cases with the highest reported in the US. The US has reported over 2.2M cases and also has the highest fatality with over 120000 deaths. The spike in new cases follows the lifting of many restrictions in recent weeks.

While Brazil has the second-highest confirmed COVID-19 cases, it has also become the second country after the US to report more than fifty thousand deaths.

In India, the country again registered its biggest one-day spike yesterday with around 15000 new cases. Crossing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the UK, India now stands after US, Brazil, and Russia. According to Johns Hopkins University, India has over four hundred thousand people infected with the COVID-19.

Meanwhile, China’s second outbreak is centered in Beijing with over 180 new cases reported since last week.
