11 people tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday- the highest recorded positive cases in a day so far. All the cases were detected from quarantine facilities in Thimphu among the Middle East returnees.

With this, the total number of COVID19 positive cases in the country stands at 59. The new cases, detected in six women and five men, have been moved to the isolation ward, taking the number of patients in isolation to 22.

Meanwhile, three covid19 patients were declared recovered today upon completing the two-week de-isolation period and testing negative on RT-PCR. This takes the total number of recovered cases to 14.

Two patients were put in the de-isolation facility upon testing negative twice, taking the total number of individuals in de-isolation to 23.

With no community transmission and zero deaths, Bhutan is still in the orange zone. As of yesterday, there are more than 1000 individuals in quarantine facilities in the country.

The number of Bhutanese diagnosed with COVID19 outside Bhutan stands at 22 with no new detection reported in the last 24 hours.
