Outbreak of chilli pod borer affecting vegetable production, Punakha

It is currently peak season for vegetable business in Punakha Dzongkhag. The market would normally be flooded with fresh chillies and other vegetables around this time. But the situation has been different this year. An outbreak of chilli pod borer insects is affecting vegetable production in the district.
