Integrated farming business startup from Pagshinggang (Pakshina) under Darla Gewog in Chhukha was the best business idea during the first-ever basic entrepreneurship course in Chhukha.

The two-week training which ended last Thursday saw various business ideas and left the participants inspired.

Nearly 40 participants from nine gewogs in Chhukha attended the training in Darla. The participants were introduced to marketing, value addition and financial management for business. The participants presented seven business ideas such as integrated farming, highway wastes management and bamboo craftworks among others.

“For instance, the integration of cardamom and beekeeping, flowers from cardamom help bees and bees help with pollination. So it increases the production of cardamom as well as honey,” said Mani Kumar Limbo, from Darla Gewog.

Participants are planning to seek loans to go ahead with the plan.

“I am a local contractor. This training has helped in learning many new things about entrepreneurship. We came to know how to start a business, earn profits and also to bear losses,” said Kezang, from Geling Gewog.

“The training has helped us a lot. We learnt how to seek help and where to go when we have to start a business. Our wish to serve the country meaningfully is fulfilled anyhow,” added Ram Kumar Biswa, from Darla Gewog.

The event is to introduce the business environment and business plan development for the out of school youth in the dzongkhag.
